Relations between Anxiety and Sexual Activity of Pregnant Women

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was conducted to analize the relations between anxiety and sexual activity of pregnant women.
The author interviewed 98 pregnant women who visited the obsterics¢¥ out patient department of two general hospitals in Pusan during February 1984. Also the data were collected through questionaires which was developed by Spielberger.
The results obtained were as follows;
1. 25-29 years old groups of respondents revealed to be 70.40%, the average number of sexual intercourse before pregnancy was 2.96 and during pregnancy was 1.57.
2. The mean, scores of state-anxiety and trait-anxiety of respondents were 44.94, 42.40 and, multigravida¢¥s state-anxiety (46.68) was higher than primigravida¢¥s state-anxiety (43.33).
3. The analysis of variance between state anxiety and sexual activity included sexual desire, sexual satisfaction and length of sexual intercourse showed the significant difference. (p<0.001)
4. A multiple regression an analysis showed that state-anxiety scores are dependent on the pregnant women¢¥s education and the experience of pregnancy (p<0.01), but independent on the age and the gestation period.
